Membership Overview

Membership within the private security sector represents a commitment to professionalism, compliance, and collective responsibility in safeguarding lives and property across Uganda. Members of the organisation comprise duly licensed Private Security Organisations (PSOs), industry stakeholders, and affiliated professionals who operate within the legal and regulatory framework established by the Government of Uganda.

The membership structure is designed to promote unity, accountability, and collaboration among private security service providers. By bringing together organisations of varying sizes and operational scope, the sector benefits from shared standards, collective advocacy, and coordinated engagement with regulators, law enforcement agencies, and the public. Membership provides a platform for addressing common challenges, exchanging best practices, and strengthening the overall credibility of the industry.

All members are expected to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and operational guidelines governing private security services in Uganda. This includes adherence to licensing requirements, cooperation with the Uganda Police Force, observance of ethical conduct, and commitment to professional training and personnel welfare. Membership reinforces a culture of self-regulation, transparency, and respect for human rights within the sector.

In addition to compliance, membership offers opportunities for capacity building and sector development. Members benefit from access to training programmes, policy updates, stakeholder consultations, and industry-led initiatives aimed at improving service delivery and operational standards. Through collective engagement, members are better positioned to contribute meaningfully to national security objectives and crime prevention efforts.

Membership also serves as a channel through which the sector engages government institutions, development partners, and the wider public. By speaking with a unified voice, members can effectively participate in policy dialogue, promote responsible private security practices, and enhance public confidence in the services provided by Private Security Organisations.

Through an inclusive and well-regulated membership framework, the private security sector continues to strengthen professionalism, foster cooperation, and advance its role as a trusted partner in Uganda’s security architecture.
