Shivani Asasira, a 30-year-old manager at Dave Hotel and Suites and Lawrence Musinguzi, a 27-year-old security guard at the hotel, were both found dead with stab wounds following an attack by unknown assailants between 10 pm and 11pm.

Police in Kampala are investigating a double murder and robbery at Dave Hotel and Suites in Mbubi Zone, Lungujja Parish, where a hotel manager and a security guard were found dead on Friday, February 7, 2026.

The deceased have been identified as Asasira Shivani (30), the hotel manager, and Musinguzi Lawrence (about 27), a security guard at the facility.

According to police, preliminary findings indicate that at about 10:00 a.m., the hotel owner received a phone call from the manager, Asasira Shivani, who reported that she was unable to locate the security guard and that his phones were switched off. At around 11:30 a.m., the owner attempted to call the manager back, but her phone was also not being answered.

Concerned, the owner later went to the hotel at about 3:00 p.m., where he discovered both the manager and the security guard dead in separate rooms. Police say both victims had sustained stab wounds. A white Toyota Harrier (registration UBH 633M) belonging to the hotel was also found missing and is believed to have been stolen by the assailants.

The bodies were conveyed to Mulago Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examinations.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SP Rachel Kawala confirmed that investigations are ongoing and that efforts are underway to identify and arrest the suspects.

Police have urged anyone with information that could aid the investigations to report to the nearest police station as inquiries into the robbery and murders continue.
